Jesse: “In this scene, Mark is supposed to laugh, you know, when the girl unbuttons his pants. And I like, I did a laugh, and then I did a different laugh the next take and David Fincher said: ‘No, what happened, where did the laugh go?’ I said like: ‘What laugh?’ He’s like: ‘That laugh you did in the first one.’ I was like: ‘I don’t remember it!’ So they brought me by the monitor, and I heard the laugh. I didn’t think it was that interesting but that was what I had to replicate 50 times while Andrew got to make out with Brenda Song. (laughs) I wonder what he’s telling at his commentary track.
Andrew: “This was a tough scene to do, let me tell you.” (laughs)
Armie: “Oh yeah. I’m sure. How many takes of that did you have to suffer through it?”
(Andrew laughs)
Josh: “There was a lot of rehearsal for this.”
Andrew: “Fincher let this moment go on to the point of complete uncomfortability when she exits frame and leaves me kinda like ‘wait, you gotta say something!’
Armie: “Oh wait, here it comes, here it comes!”
Andrew: “Oh, here comes Pence.”
Josh: “This is the moment where…”
Armie: “Booooh!”
Andrew: “Should we talk about our off-lines to you during this scene?”
Josh: “Oh my god. Every single take…”
Andrew: “The filthiest things and it was like a mixture of Fincher and Jesse and Bob.”
Josh: “Oh yeah. Fincher gave me a good one at one point. That’s the one I think that almost…”
Andrew: “Which one was it?”
Josh: “I can’t remember…”
Andrew: “I think Jesse said one about like ‘Oh sorry, they gave me…’ that I just kind of laughed my way through that, he said: ‘Oh sorry man, I think there’s some girls just sewing up their hymens in there.’
Armie: “Oh my god!”
Andrew: “Just terrible, just awful!”
Josh: “That came from Fincher!”
Andrew: “No, that was Jesse, that little Eisenberg. Yeah, somehow. The mind of Eisenberg.
